Officially the Prince Consort National Memorial.<br/><br/>Located in Kensington Gardens on Albert Memorial Road opposite the Royal Albert Hall.<br/><br/>Albert is shown holding the catalogue of the Great Exhibition of 1851, which he inspired and helped organise. The Memorial, designed by Joseph Durham, is made of Aberdeen and Cornish granite with electrotyped bronze female figures representing Europe, America, Asia and Africa.<br/><br/>The original plan was to crown it with a statue of Britannia, but following Prince Albert?s death in 1861 Queen Victoria arranged for a statue of her late husband to stand on top. Officially the Prince Consort National Memorial.<br/><br/>Located in Kensington Gardens on Albert Memorial Road opposite the Royal Albert Hall.
